Glucose is a common nutrient that is absorbed in the small intestine and reabsorbed by the kidney tubules.

Glucose is the simplest form of sugar and the most basic units of carbohydrates obtained by the digestion of carbohydrates in the small intestine. It is one of the most important sources of energy. Therefore, it is absorbed in the small intestine by the surrounding blood capillaries so that it can be transported or moved on by the blood to different parts of the body.

When the blood reaches kidney, it gets filtered and here the process of the formation of urine occurs. During this process, important substances ( like glucose) which were absorbed in the small intestine are reabsorbed by the tubules of the kidney so that they are not released out by the body in urine.
