WHAT IS AN EFFLORERESCENT SUBSTANCE??
An efflorescent substance is a chemical which has water associated with its molecules, and which, when exposed to air, loses this water through evaporation. A common example of this phenomenon is the drying of cement.

Efflorescence is a crystalline deposit of salts that can form when water is present in or on BRICK, CONCRETE, STONE, STUCCO (or) OTHER BUILDING SURFACES.

It has a white or greyish tint and consists of salt deposits left behind when water evaporates.
