• Sundial - Sundial is a device that was used to measure the time for the day by the use of sunlight. The first sundial for indicating the time of day was the gnomon, invented in 3500 BCE. In this there is a pillar and disc. Pillar is kept stand on the middle of the disc. When the sunlight falls on the pillar, the shadow of the pillar falls on the disc. There are usually marking on the disc which were to measure time. When shadow falls, it shows a particular time period.

• Waterclock - Waterclock also known as clepsydra was to used to measure time. There is no particular date when it was invented. In this, there are two beakers, one kept up, and another below it. There is made a small hole in the upper beaker. Water is poured in the upper beaker. And there are markings marked in lower beaker to measure this much water fell from the upper beaker to lower beaker by the hole, that shows how much time is.
