Slide Layouts refers to all formatting, positioning, and placeholder for all of the content that appears on a slide.

By default there are 9 types of slide Layouts in PowerPoint 2016, which may be applied to a slide.

These are discussed below here:

Title Slide: Its the first slide in a presentation that appers in the PowerPoint workspace when that presentation is opened.

Title and Content: Its contains a placeholder for adding a title to a slide and also the content as bulleted list. To add content other than text to the Title and Content slide Layouts, you would click on the appropriate coloured icon in the set of six different content types.

Section Header: This layout is usually used to separate different sections of the same presentation, rather than use an additional Title slide.

Two Content: Its consists of a placeholder to add a title to the slide as well as placeholder for two contents.

Comparison: Its consists of a placeholder to add title to the slide as well as placeholder for two Contents.

Title only: This layout contains a placeholder only to add a title at the top. The remaining page is blank and therefore anything may be added.

Blank: This layout offers a blank slide, where you may add any elements at any position according to the choice.

Content with caption: To insert some text as well as a caption, This layout is used.

Picture with Caption: To insert a picture as well as a Caption, select the slide Layout.
