Though cell is bound by a membrane known as cell membrane or plasma membrane, some of its organelles are non-membranous, i.e., they are without any membrane. For example, Ribosomes, cytoskeletal structures such as microtbule, microfilament and intermediate filament centrioles, basal bodies and cilia and flagella.

Though cell is covered by a membrane called plasma membrane bot, inside the cell there are some cell organelles. Not all cell organelles are membrane bounded. There are some cell organelles which are non membranous. They are ribosomes which are small particles found on the Rough endoplasmic reticulum which help in protein sythesis
