The Punjab - Haryana Plain - This plain lies to the west of the Delhi ridge. It is drained by the beas, ravi and sutlej rivers. This region is a part of the larger indus plain that lies largely in Pakistan. It covers the states of Punjab and Haryana.

The Brahmaputra originates in Tibet, where it is known as Yarlung Tsangpo. In India, it flows through the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, beforehand entering Bangladesh.
