Wind ,water and animals help in dispersal of seeds.
Wind : You must have seen light seeds of calotropis flying in the air here and there , we used to call them boodhi ke bal( old womans hair bunch )in childhood .they fly away to a few hundred metres or more and settle some where and may germinate during the rainy season .
Water : many hydrophytes and some plants on sea shore like Coconut when it falls in the sea it flows to hundreds of miles and may sometimes reach another sea shore before germination , thus it may move from one continent to another.
Animals : some seeds have thorns or spines on them like zygophylous they stick to animal skins and are unintentionally carried by them , even they stick to human garments and are carried from one place to another where we notice them on our clothes and throw them away , if they fall on suitable substratum they germinate and grow there.
Fruit of Peepal, Banyan and fig are eaten by the birds and the seeds pass through their alimentary canal and when they defecate on a wall etc they germinate and grow , you must have quite often seen them on walls or roof tops .
