Mostly LPGs are composed of Butane and Propane

Butane + Chlorine gives:

1-chlorobutane (not propane), 2-chlorobutane, and HCl. This is a radical reaction, so 2-chlorobutane will be the major product, because secondary radicals are more stable.

Propane + Chlorine:

Then there are 2 steps in propagation:

1 - Cl radical + propane --> C3H7 RADICAL + HCl

2 - C3H7 RADICAL + Cl2 --> C3H7Cl + Cl radical

Then in termination - any two radicals join together to form a stable molecule.

So this could be 2Cl radicals forming --> Cl2

Or a,

C3H7 RADICAL + Cl Radical --> C3H7Cl
