Different cell organelles are -

• Plastids : They are large cell organelles, characteristics of plant cell. These may contain pigment that provides green colour to the cell, known as Chloroplast.

• Mitochondria : It is the power plant of the cell. Some how they resemble a bacteria. They helps in cellular respiration. It produces energy in the form of ATP ( adenosine Tri phosphate)

• Endoplasmic reticulum : It carries information out of the cell and throughout the cell. It is of two types, 1) Rough Endoplasmic reticulum - helps in the synthesis of proteins. 2) SMOOTH Endoplasmic reticulum - it helps in the production of lipids in cell.

• Golgi complex : it is the post office of the cell, it is named after the scientist who observed it under microscope, Camilo Golgi.

• Vacuole : It appears as an empty space in cell. It stores excess water and waste products of cell.

• Ribosomes : they are the cooks. They make proteins in cell.
