Following are the names of two excavation sites, also known as excavation settlements, which were excavated by archaeologists in the area of Janapada:-

1- Excavations at Adam (1988-1992) this is a city of Asika Janapada

2- Excavations at Malhar, i.e. a branch of Nagpur. This was later identified as the location of Dakshin Koshala Janapada.
