As we know that, Air which is a mixture of all gases travels from

Nostrils or Oral cavity ▶ Pharynx ▶ Trachea ▶ Bronchi ▶ Bronchioles ▶ Alveoli (sing. Alveolus )

Here, Alveoli is warped by a No. of capillaries. These capillaries contains Haemoglobin present in Red blood cells (RBC). Our body needs only oxygen to function, But air is a mixture of all gases. Thus to separate oxygen from This mixture. Haemoglobin carries the oxygen only and leaves all rest gases to other path ( back to nose). When this haemoglobin combines with oxygen it form Oxyhaemoglobin.

From this, We get to know that, Haemoglobin present in RBCs is the respiratory pigment in human. The Function is Explained above.
