Drains have been covered with covers of cement. At regular intervals on the drain inspection holes were made. The houses' walls were thick and solid. Some of the houses were built on two floors. This indicates that architecture had been well established during that period. Normally there was one house with a kitchen, a restroom and a wide courtyard. In most homes, wells were also present to ensure constant water supply.
A large granary was found in the cities of the Indus Valley Civilization. In these granaries, charred grains were found. This proves that in that period food grain production was excessive.
