hii,
The sclerenchyma is the tissue found in the husk of coconut. It contains lignin ( a chemical substance which acts as a cement hardens it ).
sclerenchyma is different from parenchyma as:
1) Parenchyma has thin cell walls and Sclerenchyma has thick cell walls.
2)Parenchymatous tissue is made up of live cells whereas Sclerenchymatous tissue is made up of dead cells.
3)Parenchyma cells are loosely packed with intercellular spaces whereas Sclerenchyma cells have no intercellular spaces between them.
4)Parenchyma supports the plant and stores food. Sclerenchyma provides strength to the plant parts.
