Poetic devices are tools which a poet or writer uses in his poem,story,novel,etc.
There are, different types of poetic devices each having it's own function. Few of these poetic devices are listed below:-
1.Alliteration: This poetic device is identified by repeated sound of first or second in a series of words or repetition of same letter sounds in a phrase. Eg- She sells, sea shells by the, sea shore.
2.Imagery: This type of poetic device appeals to any sense or any combination of senses.Eg- The fresh and juicy orange is very cold and sweet. Here, "juicy" and "sweet" when associated with oranges have an effect on our sense of taste.
3.Metaphor: This type of poetic device is used while comparing between two things. Eg- The snow is a white blanket.
