magnesium and manganese react with hno3 to produce h2 gas
Mn+HNO3 ---------> Mn(NO3) 2+H2 (manganese)
Mg + HNO3 -------> Mg (NO3)2 + H2(magnesium)

Very dilute Nitric Acid [HNO3] reacts with magnesium to form magnesium nitrate and hydrogen.
2Mg + HNO3 → Mg(NO3)2 + H2
Very dil. solution of HNO3 also react with zinc to form Zinc Nitrate and Hydrogen.
Zn + 2HNO3 → Zn(NO3) +H2
