Agricultural seasons in India are classified into two main seasons.
One is Kharif and the second is Rabi based on the monsoon.
The Kharif season usually begins from the July till October month at the time of South-west monsoon. The Rabi cropping season is from October till March.
The crops that are grown between March and June are summer crops.
The Zaid season is for the crops raised throughout the year because of artificial irrigation.
