well, there are many method in order to find the unknown resistance .Each method is unique in it's own way but are used for resistance in different range .
In order to findout the very low resistance( less than 1 ohm) the methods like Kelvin double bridge method as well as the Potentiometer methods are effective.
For medium range resistance:
1) substitution method (2) using Ohmmeter (3) Carey- Foster bridge method are used along with other methods
If you want to measure the high resistance 1) Megger method (2) Loss of charge method (3) Meghom bridge method are the famous method to measure it.

We can classify the resistance in the following way :
Classification of Reistance :
low resistance=0.1ohm to 1 ohm
medium resistance =1ohm to low mega ohm
high resistance=0.1 megaohm to a higher range.
Different methods of finding Unknown resistance are based on type of resistance used:
Methods for finding
Low resistance:
Kelvin double bridge
Ammeter -voltmeter
Resistance For medium Resistance:
Ammeter -voltmeter method
Wheat stone bridge method
ohm meter method
Method for finding high Resistance:
Direct deflection method
loss of charge method
Megha Ohm bridge method
