Ribosomes are sites for biological protein synthesis. The eukaryotic ribosomes are also known as 80S ribosomes, which is their sedimentation coefficients in Svedberg units, because they sediment more slowly than the prokaryotic ribosomes (70s unit).

Ribosomes are synthesized in cytoplasm in case of bacteria whereas in eukaryotes they are synthesized in the nucleolus or cytoplasm. Polyribosomes are aggregation of several ribosoms held together by a string of mRNA.

Hope it helps!
