Alcohol are soluble in water because of hydrogen bonding with water molecule.
The solubility decrease with the increase in size of alkyl or aryl group.

in chemistry like dissolved like

in alcohol hydroxyl group is present

which have hydrogen bond and in water also have hydrogen bond so like dissolve like cause solubility of alcohol in water
