There are mainly five groups of microorganisms- algae, protozoa, bacteria, fungi (yeasts, molds), and virus.

Unicellular organisms are of two kinds- Prokaryotic and Eukaryota.

There are several kinds of unicellular microorganisms.

Bacteria, protozoa, unicellular fungi and unicellular algae are some of the unicellular microorganisms.

Based on presence of cell nuclei and cell bodies they are classified as prokaryotic or Eukaryota.
