To calculate for the electrostatic force this formula is to be used:
F = ( k * q1 * q2 )/ r^2 where F is the force in newtons; k = 9 x 10^9 Nm^2/C^2 ; q1 & q2 are the charges of. the bodies in coloumbs and r^2 is the square of the distance between them in m^2.
Substituting the values:
F = ( 1.609^-19)^2 * 9 x 10^9 / (8 x 10^-14)^2
It gives us this value: 0.036406139
The electrostatic force of attraction between a proton and an electron is 0.0364 newton.
