Functional unit of Lungs:
"Alveoli" are little air sacs which are the functional units of lungs.
Working of Alveoli:
When we inhale air, it passes to the smallest and last unit of lungs known as alveoli (singular alveolus). These are single celled structures.
The oxygen from the inhaled air in the lungs reaches the bloodstream through alveoli and carbon dioxide from the deoxygenated blood is transferred to the lungs through these alveoli and exhaled out through the nose.
