there are 4 types of forces in nature:

1) Gravitational force- it is the weakest force in nature, it is always attractive in nature, they are mediated by particles called gravitons

2)Electromagnetic force: it may be attractive or repelling in nature, they are mediated by particle called photons.

3)Strong nuclear force: they are basically attractive but sometimes may be repulsive, they are non central forces, mediated by particle called pie mesons.

4)weak nuclear force: they are mediated by particles called bosons, they have the shortest range.e.i.10^-16.....
