LSD is lysergic acid diethylamide. It is also known as psychedelic drug. It is obtained from the fungus Ergot (Claviceps pupurea). It grows on the ears of rye, cereal and forage plants. It can cause ergotism in human and other mammals if they consume cereal or fodder infected with this fungi.
