Answer:

The important types of cells in human beings are:

• Red Blood Cells (RBC) - These blood cells are most abundant in number. They are formed in the bone marrow. They are red in colour due to the presence of haemoglobin.

• White Blood Cells (WBC) - These blood cells are also formed in the bone marrow. They are less in number compared to red blood cells. They form a major part of the immune system. The role of white blood cells is to fight against the diseases. They are bigger in size than red blood cells.

• Platelets - They are irregularly shaped blood cells. They are the smallest among the blood cells in size. In case of any cut or wound, the platelets get activated. The activated platelets form a cover or a layer which prevents blood from coming out and helps in blood clotting.
