The group of island lying in the Bay of Bengal is called the Andaman and Nicobar Islands while the group of islands in the Arabian Sea is called the Lakshadweep.

The former consists of cellar jail constructed during the time of the British colonial rule.

In fact, freedom fighters were transported to Andaman and Nicobar so that they could not create problem in the mainland.
