The Earth's crust itself is the upper layer of the Lithosphere. The lower layer is called the Asthenosphere which is a highly viscous, ductile region of the upper mantle. The boundary between the crust and the mantle is known as the Mohorovicic discontinuity.

The Earth's crust of two distinctive types: oceanic crust and continental crust. The former is more dense and less thicker.

Crust is of two types such as oceanic and continental. Besides that there are 2 layer that constitute the whole crust i.e sial( silica+aluminium) and sima(silica+magnesium). The continental crust have both the layer but sial layer is absent in oceanic one . The sial is located up to 11km and then sima is up to asthenosphere. There occurs a discontinuity between them called Conrad discontinuity.

hope it helps ^-^
