1. Serosa
This layer is the most outermost one. Mesothelium along with few connective tissue makes up the serosa layer.
2. Muscularis
Smooth type of muscles makes up this layer. These are arranged in an outer longitudinal layer as well as in an inner circular layer.
3. Sub - mucosa
Nerves, blood vessels, lymph vessels, loose kind of connective tissues makes up the sub mucosa layer.
4. Mucosa
This is the layer which is found in the innermost region. This layer possess rugae in stomach and villi in small intestine.
