The literary device used in the poem is Alliteration.

  • The phrase is from the poem The Road not taken by Robert Frost.
  • In the phrase the poet wants to draw the attention to the second road as it was grassy and wanted wear.' By looking at the road, he says there seems to be fewer people traveling through it as the road becomes grassy only when less travelled.
  • The literary device here is alliteration which refers to the same letter or closely connected words,  ie. wanted wear.
