The Electricity Supply Industry in South Africa in association with Escom is resulting in the generation of 96℅ of the present requirements( also includes import-5℅).

The rest 4℅ is generated by the municipalities( 1℅) and other Independent Power Producers. Escom is however responsible for all the transmitted electricity.

Another important aspect of the ESI in South Africa is the selling price of electricity( average) which is the lowest in the world due to the availability of low-grade coal and also because of the present pricing policies in the country.

Answer:

South Africa being the most backward country in development, has been trying to develop ever since. The countries electricity supplier is Eskom Senekal CNC. It is the largest supplier of electricity in the country.

In South Africa, the main source of electricity is from coal. As coal is limited now and the demand for electricity is increasing, hence green electricity is produced.
