The most common cause of bacterial pneumonia is a type ofbacteria known as Streptococcus pneumoniae. Haemophilus influenzae, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Legionella pneumophila are some other majorbacteria that cause pneumonia.
