Olympe de Gouges(1748-1793).

Olympe de Gouges was one of the most politically active women in revolutionary France. She protested against the exclusion of women from the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen and in 1791, wrote a Declaration of Rights of Woman and Citizen. In 1793, she criticised the Jacobin government. She was arrested, tried and charged for treason and was executed.
