Name the only artery that carries carbon dioxide-rich blood.
Why is it called an artery if it does not carry oxygen-rich blood ?

The name of the artery is Pulmonary artery.

So as per the conventional definition, pulmonary artery is called an artery as it carries blood away from the heart to the lungs but for purification. While all the arteries carry oxygenated blood from heart to other parts, it is the one carrying  deoxygenated  blood.
