Photosynthesis is a process by which  green plants use sunlight, water ( H₂O), and carbon dioxide (CO₂) to create oxygen (O₂) and energy in the form of glucose ( C₆H₁₂O₆),  photosynthesis takes place in chloroplasts, which contain the chlorophyll. Chloroplasts are surrounded by a double membrane and contain a third inner membrane, called the thylakoid membrane, that forms long folds within the organelle. actually photosynthesis takes place in the leaves of a plant. that's why leaves are called the kitchen of green plants.
