It's the Palghat Gap that lies between the two ranges. It is located in the western ghats of South Western India . The deep gap is approximaltely 32km in length. It is marked as a major communicating route between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The gap provides easy way to Tamil Nadu. There are railway lines over the area which connects Palghat in kerala and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Climate of Kerala is also influenced by this gap as it guides the monsoon clouds.
