Answer :
Palakkad Gap or Palghat Gap is the pass which separates the Nilgiri Hills in the North from the Annamalai Hills in the South.
The pass, located in the Western Ghats, has an average height of 140 metres and an average width of 24–30 kilometres. This pass also influences the climate in Southern India and also effects the Southwest monsoon. The pass is also used for harnessing wind energy.
