  • a) Radula - Mollusca - Radula is similar to a tongue. The radula has small teeth which is used to cut the food before entering the digestive system. Mollusks usually use radula to scrape off the diatoms from hard surfaces.
  • b) Cnidoblast - Cnidaria - Cnidoblasts contain a cnidocyst organelle which is used to sting predators. Sometimes the cnidocyst might also have toxins, especially neurotoxin.
  • c) Pneumatic bones - Birds - Pneumatic bones are bones that are hollow which allows air to fill in them. This results in light weight body and additional buoyancy. These characteristics are suitable for birds who fly.
  • d) Proboscis gland - Balanoglossus - It is an appendage which begins at the head and extends till the tail. It is responsible for excretion in hemichordates. It can also be used to suck like in butterflies.
