when ethane burns in sufficient air it liberates water and carbon dioxide.
2C2H6 +7O2 ---> 4CO2+ 6H2O
if it reacts with limited supply of air it liberates carbon monoxide and water
2C2H6+ 5O2 ---> 4CO+ 6H2O.
