the respiratory pigment is haemoglobin which carry the oxygen and supply to each and every cells of body.

there is a need for this pigment because the oxygen we take binds in haemoglobin. and if it will not be in blood then cells may not be able to get oxygen. therefore cells have the deficiency of oxygen and will not function properly.
