Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan gave the permission to the east india company to trade with Bengal, where east india Company had established their factory in 1641. In 1717, the east india Company achieved its most notable success when the Mughal Emperor exempting the east india Company from the payment of custom duties in Bengal.
