SI unit of force -> newton

CGS unit of Force-> dyne

ss862557ggmcom: It is right,but I also asked that how they are related.
ss862557ggmcom: Thanks

The SI unit of force is the newton. Where force is the product of the mass of a body and its acceleration.

The newton(N) the force that will cause a mass of 1kg to accelerate at 1m/s.

The CGS on the other hand is also an SI unit, but refers to the centimeter, gramme and second.

Now, the relationship between the newton(KGMS) and the CGS is:

1 N = 1kgm/s. Now,

1 kg = 1000 gm,

1 m = 100 cm.

. : 1 N = 1000 x 100 CGS,

= 10^5 CGS.
