Sacred groves are forest fragments which have significant religious importance for the community.

Some examples of sacred groves are Banyan tree, Mannan Purath Kavu and Hindu groves near Narmada river.

Their worship has saved the lives of many virgin trees which have been the victim of deforestation activities by humans.

Sacred groves may be insecurely used to refer to other usual habitat protected on spiritual grounds, such as Alpine Meadows.

They are protected by the villagers of India and hunting and cutting of trees are not allowed in those areas.

In that area natural worship is believed and the creations are protected.
