Archaebacteria are single celled organisms with no nucleus or other organelles. They are the simplest and oldest living species available. Living fossils are species which exist and are similar to otherwise only extinct or foossil species. Archae have studies to be originated around 4 billion years ago and the present day eukaryotes have diverged from them

Archae have studies to be originated around 4 billion years ago and the present day eukaryotes have diverged from them. They have escaped all the extinction events due to the simplest structure and growth in adverse conditions. Therefore they are known as living fossils
