A liquid has a fixed size because its volume remains constant; no matter what shape it is in, assuming that no more liquid has been added or taken away, there are always the same number of molecules.

Liquids have fixed volume but no fixed shapes because liquid particles are arranged disorderly and are less closely packed together. In liquids particles are not so tightly bound and have spaces in between them and are free to move compared to solids.
