Hey there!
When heating the FeSO4 crystals(green) , it first loses its water of crystallisation i. e 7H20 and becomes anhydrous ferrous sulphate (white).
On further heating, it decomposes to ferric oxide(Fe2O3), SO2 and SO3 gases.
So the gases leave the tube while Fe2O3 remains in the tube.
