Answer:

Peninsula, derived from Latin words “paene” meaning almost and “insula” means island, a "peninsula" is a body that is surrounded by water bodies on three sides and one side is connected to the land part or the mainland. India is a country that is surrounded by water bodies in the form of oceans- "Arabian sea" in the "west", "Bay of Bengal" in the "east", "Indian ocean" in the "south", "Lakshadweep sea" in the "southwest" and "Himalayas" in the "north". All the major seas ("The Bay of Bengal", "Indian Ocean" and "Arabian sea" ) are connected in the Kanyakumari, Tamilnadu.
