The answer is "Seed Drill".

A Seed Drill is used along with a tractor for sowing seeds in a field.

The major advantages of using a seed drill is that the seeds are sowed at a uniform distance with similar depth and also it reduces the manual labor and time involved in planting trees.

Up until this period, farmers planted the seeds by carrying them in a bag and walking up and down the field throwing or broadcasting the seeds. They broadcast the seeds by hands on the ploughed and harrowed field. The problem with this method was that it did not give a very even distribution. It was not therefore, an efficient use of the seed and much of the seeds were wasted. Besides being wasteful, planting was usually imprecise and led to a poor distribution of seeds, leading to low productivity.

Jethro Tull invented the seed drill which could be pulled behind a horse. It consisted of a wheeled vehicle containing a box filled with grain. The seed drill planted the seeds in straight lines. The use of seed drill can improve the ratio of crop yield.
