Peripheral nervous system consists of two parts:
- Autonomous nervous system
- Somatic nervous system
Autonomous nervous system deals with the involuntary actions of a body such breathing, heartbeat and digestive processes.
On the other hand, somatic nervous system controls the voluntary motions of a body such as walking, running, eating etc. It includes the use of efferent and afferent nerves.
