The two components of starch are:
amylose and amylopectin.

Amylose is a linear polymer of glucose. and form 20 to 30% of the whole structure.

while amylopectin is heavily branched polymer of α-D(+)-Glucose. and composes the remaining part of the structure.

The components of starch are Amylose and Amylopectin.

The differences between them are:

1. Amylose components are insoluble in water but those of Amylopectin are soluble

2. Amylose composes around 20 to 30 percent of the total structure of starch. It is a polysaccharide made up of D-glucose units. Amylopectin is also a polysaccharide and composes the remaining percentage.

3. Amylose is not connected by any branching and has Alpha 1 and 4 bonds. Amylopectin is connected by branching.
