- Oil belt has extend from the place Surat to Amreli. In 2002-03, Gujarat produced more than 60 lakhs tonnes of crude oil . Oil fields are in the Gujarat coast , Cauvery on-shore basin,Brahmaputra valley in Tamil Nadu. Surat, Ahmedabad, Kheda, Mehsana,Kachchh, Vadodara, Bharuch are the main producing places.
